A Roanoke bicyclist is in critical condition after colliding with a Valley Metro bus this evening.
Police say 43-year-old Hampton Anderson was pulling past a Yield sign when he hit a bus at the intersection of 3rd Street and Harrison Avenue.
The bus driver was treated and released from the hospital.
Police suspect alcohol WAS involved -- on the part of the bicyclist.

William Mayhew died Tuesday after spending 42 of his 62 years serving his community.
Mayhew was the long- time chief of the Moneta Volunteer Fire Department.

He also volunteered with the Moneta Rescue Squad.. dozens of emergency vehicles led his funeral procession today with their lights flashing in his memory.
Mayhew was a retired Virginia Department of Corrections employee and also served as a deputy with the Bedford County sheriff's department.
