A contract vote tonight means labor peace for hundreds of area workers and their employer. Employees at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant agreed to terms of a new four year contract.

There were some concerns by the employees about overtime and about having to work more than one maintenance job. But one union official said overall, workers got a good deal and said those issues pailed in comparison to the thought of being out of work.

After weeks of negotiation, Roanoke County school officials have signed an option agreement on the Woods End property.

That's the site the school board favors for a new south county high school.
The agreement signed today will allow the county to perform the next phase of testing on the property.
Officials estimate it will take them ten to twelve weeks to determine if the site is suitable for construction of the new high school.

The cancer was diagnosed last week, and the 62 year father of Iron Man Cal Junior is optimistic chemotherapy will take care of the condition.

Belanger also was a key figure in the player's union.
Friends say he was a heavy smoker. Mark Belanger was 54 years old.

But when Lisa McDaniel and Brian Brooks decided to wed, they really took the plunge... into the water. The Virginia couple are both scuba divers and decided to dive into marriage by diving into the water.
The bride and groom spoke their wedding vows beneath the surface with a scuba-diving minister presiding over the ceremony.
Guests listened to the wedding ceremony with underwater communication devices. And after the couple emerged from the water as husband and wife, they both agreed it was a memorable wedding.
