Lawyers for Sharon Alley want to introduce psychological evidence at her murder trial next month.

Alley is the Henry County woman accused of stabbing her 8-month old daughter to death on Mother's Day.
At a motions hearing today, her lawyers asked the judge to permit mental health experts to testify as part of the defense.
The Commonwealth's Attorney says he wants Alley to be examined by his own expert.
The judge is expected to make a ruling by Monday.

Most of the water is pumped back into Smith Moutain Lake.

Virginia's most conservative and independent Democrat in Washington is one of the Democrats deserting President Clinton.
The chief of staff for Fifth District Congressman Virgil Goode says Goode will vote FOR the Republican resolution to launch an impeachment inquiry .. when the full House takes up the matter -- probably tomorrow.
Abingdon Democrat Rick Boucher plans to reintroduce the Democratic alternative plan to limit the inquiry.

It was the first creditors meeting since Reynolds filed for personal bankruptcy.

Developer Richard Hamlett has lost his appeal of the default judgment Debbie Reynolds won against him in Las Vegas.

After ten years of marriage, the two became embroiled in conflict over a casino they owned in 'Vegas.
She sued for divorce in 1994. Hamlett failed to provide documents she wanted, so the judge entered a 2-and-a half million dollar judgment in her favor.
Last month the Nevada Supreme Court upheld that ruling.
Last WEEK a bankruptcy trustee took control of Hamlett's assets- -until the case goes to trial- -probably sometime next year.
