During the past two decades, consumption of peppers has gone up five to ten percent a year. And in 1991, Salsa replaced ketchup as the most popular condiment in the country.
THAT'S THE BEAUTY OF THE PEPPER POD. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT TO WITH THEM
The popularity is no surprise to this man, Ben Villalon, who developed the mild jalapeno back in 1978.
I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE WORD "MILD" TOOK THE FEAR OUT OF BITING INTO THESE HOT THINGS. AND SO WHEN WE RELEASE A VARIETY AND WE LABEL IT MILD, PEOPLE ARE MORE APT TO GO AFTER THIS TYPE AND USE IT IN THEIR MEALS.
-NATS-
Nutritional scientists who can break down the fruit into it's chemicals have found that peppers..of all kinds...are an important source of anti-oxidents. Those are cancer fighting agents like Beta-Keratine, and Vitamin C, A and E.
IT'S DEFINATELY ADVANTAGEOUS TO EAT THE PEPPERS FRESH BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST LEVELS. AND THE FRUIT THAT HAVE THE HIGHEST COLORS, THE YELLOW, ORANGE AND RED FRUIT ARE BETTER THAN THE GREEN FRUIT.
-NATS-
How you eat the peppers makes a difference. Fresh is the most beneficial. And the hotter, the better the cancer fighter.
SO PEOPLE ARE EATING MORE PEPPERS..AND HOPEFULLY, WE'LL GET THEM TO EAT HOTTER PEPPERS.
