A 15-year old charged with shooting a teacher and a teacher's aide at a Richmond school will avoid prison, after entering a guilty plea yesterday.

As part of the plea agreement, Quinshawn Booker will live in a home for troubled boys until he finishes its program.
He will also be on probation until he turns 21.
Booker could spend up to 25 years in prison IF he gets in any more trouble with the law.

They think it's part of a conspiracy to convict an innocent man.

SCLC officials say Pritchett will tell Judge Ray Grubbs he is dissatisfied with his attorneys in hopes of getting the case continued.
The family plans to replace his legal team.

West maintained his innocence throughout two trials and nearly a decade in prison.

Authorities say Dennis West stabbed Barbara in the back, straggled her and slit her throat.

By a vote of 65 to 29, the Senate passed the half- TRILLION- dollar spending bill yesterday.
President Clinton is expected to sign it into law.
It includes money for 100- thousand new teachers, relief for farmers, and new funding for the military.

Ronald Lee Fitzgerald became the eleventh Virginia inmate to be executed this year.
Fitzgerald was put to death last night at the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt.
In 1993, he murdered two men and raped two women during a seven hour crime spree in Pittsylvania County.
Relatives of the two murdered men witnessed the execution.

The new Home Depot store on Hershberger Road held a grand opening last night, amid controversy over a proposed Home Depot at the corner of Brambleton Avenue and Route 419.
Home Depot officials believe the Hershberger Road store is the key to making the Roanoke County store happen.
They're hoping opponents of the proposed store will change their minds after seeing one in operation.

Employees at Low Moor's Bacova Guild plant are considering unionization, and accusing management of using fear tactics to keep it from happening.
Yesterday, Burlington Industries-- Bacova's parent company-- responded, saying they're listening to employee concerns and would rather deal directly with employees, rather than through a third party.
