A handful of union workers at Alleghany Regional Hospital protested for a few hours today outside the building.
They're upset about staffing levels, communication between workers and management, and the dismissal of a union officer.
The chief executive officer of the hospital says staffing is more than adequate to assure good patient care.
He also says top management officials had meetings each month with union leaders, until the UNION decided not to hold them anymore.
And he said the firing of the union official is an internal personnel matter.
