Wildlife biologists are learning more about the hemorrhagic disease killing deer in parts of Virginia.
Bob Ellis of the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries says the disease is currently centralized in the Richmond area though some cases have appeared in Wythe County.
Researchers say it is spread by biting flies and other insects.
There's no cure for the fatal disease and it's been known to decrease some deer herds by fifty-percent.

McCue said Poindexter will have x-rays and an M-R-I done later today to determine the extent of his injury.

Points leader Jeff Gordon's car was tight early in the race and he was running in the 13-th spot.
Dale Jarrett had the flu- he had to turn the wheel over to Michael Waltrip, who failed to qualify in the Woods brothers car.
Dale Earnhardt was running third at the halfway point.
But, the race was red flagged because of rain, and after a 40 minute delay with the sun going down, Wallace was declared the winner of the Dura Lube 500.
