The 46-year old convicted killer WAS due to be released from Keen Mountain Prison today... having served a little less than ten years for killing his wife, Barbara, in Salem.
The parole board has extended his period of supervised release from six months to two YEARS. And the parole board says he WILL wear the electronic monitor; that's not even subject to the discretion of his parole officer.
West is expected to live in Vinton with his parents.

Banks and stores that cash payroll checks need to be on the lookout for counterfeits.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office says scam artists are using a computer to make bogus payroll checks that appear to be from the Tultex Corporation.
So far, 130-fake checks have been cashed in Southwest and Southside Virginia.
The sheriff's office believes these are professional scam artists because the bogus checks look so real.

Among his arguments: the group that sued the supervisors had no right to file suit.
