Police have identified the body of a black man found dead and burned in Franklin County on Tuesday.

23-year old (Willie Kathy) Willey Cathey Junior had been missing from High Point, North Carolina since November 4th. He was discovered Tuesday morning on a private driveway in the (Sid-nors-ville)Sydnorsville section of the county. Galax Police responded to a shooting around 4 p-m yesterday afternoon that injured one man.
Police say that Danny Shane Williams of Fries alledgedly shot 38 year old Freddie Hawks in the left shoulder with a high powered rifle.
Hawks was later transfered to North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Williams has been charged with Malicious wounding, Use of a Firearm in commision of a felony, and Possesion of a firearm after being a convicted felon.
Williams is currently being held in the Grayson County Jail.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.[11C'burg-Ax]

A woman was seriously injured after hitting a truck head-on in Montgomery County.

The accident happened yesterday afternoon along Route 693 around 11-30.
Police say 19-year old Ruby Diane Luckadoo of Radford fell asleep then veered into on-coming traffic and collided with a pick-up truck.
Rescue workers had to use the jaws- of-life to free Luckadoo who suffered serious injuries.
37-year old James Franklin Kesling of Radford and 36-year old Sheryl Ann Minnick of Christiansburg suffered minor injuries.
All three were taken to Radford Memorial Hospital.
Police plan to charge Luckadoo with reckless driving.

And investigators say a teenager is their top suspect.

The boy apparently was using the restroom near the harbor when a teenage boy allegedly slashed his throat.
The victim's mother was in the women's restroom when she heard her son screaming and ran to the men's room where she found him stabbed to death.
Witnesses chased the suspected but were unable to catch him.
Investigators say the suspect appears to be 15 to 18 years old.

It's a responsibility that Hall and his team of experts take very seriously. Before they can start up the mountain next August, they'll need to clear two major hurdles: raising 1- point- 2 million dollars and getting permission from the Turkish government.

The black man who was burned and found dead in Franklin County has been identified. 23-year old (Willie Kathy) Willey Cathey Junior had been missing from High Point, North Carolina since November 4th. Franklin county investigators say they have a few suspects in custody.

The two brothers accused of first degree murder in a restaurant shooting last year may be tried separately. Terry and Kerry Scales are accused of killing one man and wounding another last year in Blacksburg.
