The holiday weekend ended tragically for three people in Halifax County.
43-year old Cecil Ray Butler died today.
He reportedly lost control of his car and crashed into a tree along Route 344.
Yesterday, 46-year old Margie Malloy and her mother, 65-year old Martha Malloy, died after they ran a stop sign then collided with two cars.
That was at the intersection of Routes 40 and 501.

Floyd County officials reportedly plan to reclaim an old prison, which at one time was going to be a boot camp.
