Attorney General Mark Earley announced today that he's forming a political action committee to raise money for next year's General Assembly candidates.
Such a move is usually the precursor to a statewide campaign.
Earley is expected to run for governor in 2001.
Lieutenant Governor John Hager is likely to fight him for the nomination.
And former Governor George Allen is expected to finally make it official that he will run for the U-S Senate in 2000, opposing Chuck Robb.
