A rape charge has been brought against a Roanoke school employee.
44-year old Kim Brandon Kennedy is charged with the rape of an exotic dancer that reportedly occurred at the Knights of (Pith-ee-us ) Pythias Lodge.
Police say Kennedy called the woman to the lodge early Tuesday morning to perform.
When she refused to have sex with him, police say Kennedy raped her.
Kennedy is the building manager at Ruffner Middle School.

Alfred Martin was extradicted to Virginia yesterday from Michigan, where he's been living as a free man.
In 1974, he fled Virginia after serving only one day for a marijuana conviction.

At a news conference yesterday in Martinsville, the Commonwealth's Attorney said she will prosecute Martin to the fullest extent of the law, no matter how minor the original offense may seem.

Tobacco giant Philip Morris is offering to buy half the nation's flue-cured tobacco reserves.

The proposal means American tobacco farmers would get higher prices than previously offered for their number one crop.
It also means more tobacco could be grown and sold next year-- since the industry operates on a quota system.
The offer comes days after negotiations between the big tobacco companies and farmers broke down-- in the second phase of a national tobacco settlement.

This is the second time in four months the I-R-S has sought a tax payment from Spangler.
