He hid out in the woods near Spencer since Tuesday.
That's when police say he shot to death a 56-year-old farmer, after stealing a car in North Carolina.

Blacksburg fire fighters worked quickly tonight to keep flames from a mobile home fire from spreading.

Alvin Revin was at home around six thirty this evening when his furnace caught fire.
Revin says he quickly ran outside and cut off the oil supply but it was too late.
He says he did NOT even have time to grab his shoes or wallet before the fire had spread throughout his older model mobile home.
Fire fighters also had to work to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby apartment complex.

According to investigators, 29-year old Thomas Wayne Akers and 27-year old Timothy Dwayne Martin beat Wesley Smith to death with a baseball bat. The two apparently robbed Smith and stole his car after leaving him in a field near Ferrum College. An autopsy revealed Smith died of multiple blows to his head. Now investigators are on the trail of his killers.
