The girl, Odera, suffered heart and lung failure.
Doctors have been concerned about her condition since birth, worried about her size, and whether or not she developed enough to survive outside the womb.

The parents issued a statement saying they were saddened by the death of their child, who is now safe with God in Heaven.
Another child underwent surgery yesterday, two others are on respirators.
Six prisoners, including three convicted murders are loose in Tennessee.
The inmates broke out of a maximum security prison after overpowering two unarmed guards.
They had been allowed out of their cells before sunrise to prepare meals for the prison's muslim population.
Police set up checkpoints and brought in helicopters.
Motorists were warned to avoid picking up strangers.
Governor Gilmore is urging Virginians to pitch-in and help their neighbors recover from the recent ice storm.
But, he stopped short of declaring a state of emergency.

There are 106-thousand homes and businesses still without power.
And, many of them are expected to be without power until mid-week.
Gilmore was expected to declare a state of emergency today which requires him to activate the National Guard.
But, he felt there was no need to call the Guard into action.
This last Sunday of the year marked the end of Noel C. Taylor's services as pastor of High Street Baptist Church in Roanoke.

Something the pastor feels he's been doing since he took the position in 1961.

He's stepping down from his pastoral duties for the same reason he didn't seek re-election as mayor of the city, a bout with prostate cancer.
But that didn't prevent him from conducting Sunday business as usual.
That included a baby dedication, a baptism and recruiting new members.

If you're keeping track of the Chukwu octuplets, Texas Children's Hospital is posting their status online... with sad news to report over the weekend, as one child died. Regular updates on the health of the other children and their mother will continue.

Total Action Against Poverty paid tribute to the former owners of the "Dumas Hotel Music Center on Henry Street" and their families today.
A sculpture of Darthula and Walton Lash and Mac Barlow Senior and his son was mounted on the hotel and unveiled in their honor.
For family members like the younger Barlow's daughter, it was a day of vindication.

Many jazz artists performed at the hotel in the days of segregation.
In the early 1980s, the city assumed ownership of the hotel.
And, TAP purchased the building from the city in 1988 and recently restored its original name.
Titanic made a big splash in Hollywood, and the song "Sunny Came Home" by Shawn Colvin racked-up the honors at the Grammys.

Shawn Colvin's "Sunny Came Home" won Record of the Year and Song of the
Year at the Grammy Awards in February. Her platinum album "A Few Small
Repairs" reached number one on the adult contemporary chart.
It was hard to believe the news that crossed the zipper in Times Square
in May. Frank Sinatra dead at the age of 82. The Empire State
Building turned blue for thr Chairman of the Board..whose first number
one hit was "I'll Never Smile Again" in 1940..when he sang with the
Tommy Dorsey Band.
Alan Cumming won a Tony for his role as the Emcee in "Cabaret". The
musical, which takes place at the mythical Kit Kat Klub also, won a Tony
for Best Musical Revival.
Disney's "The Lion King" won a Tony for Best Musical. "Art" Won a Tony
for Best Play.

Garth Brooks took home the CMA's Entertainer of the Year Award. He beat
out George Strait who was honored as Male Vocalist of the Year. Trisha

Then later in the second half Smith gets the call again this time he breaks tackles at the line of
scrimmage and he dives over at the one yard line for the score to make it 17 to 7 and Dallas wins it 23 to 7.
If yesterday's win means anything, Dom Capers make keep his job as the Head coach of the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina winning its fourth game of the season with a 27 to 19 win over Indianapolis.

The Panthers and Colts hook up for the first time since 1995.
Indianapolis would take the lead in the second quarter when Peyton Manning hooks up with Marcus Pollard on the 44 yard touchdown scoring pass play to make it 13 to 3 Colts.
The Colts led 13 to 3 at the half but the Panthers struck on the kickoff to open the third. Michael Bates breaks tackles along the sideline and takes it up the field on his way to a 99 yard kick off return giving the Panthers a 20 to 16 lead in the third.

Stern made what he called his final offer in an effort to salvage the season but he says the proposal produced little progress.
The Players Union was represented by director Billy Hunter and there was no response following the meeting in Denver.
Both sides left the meeting frustrated and admitted that they are far apart. If nothing is settled by January seventh Stern will cancel the season.
