[RUNS1:00] Movie review "Shakespeare in Love" Miramax/Universal

"Shakespeare in Love" is one of the most creative and original movies to come along in years. Although true to the period, it has a very contemporary feel.
Will Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) is in a writing slump. He has to have a play ready or his friend, Henslow (Geoffrey Rush) will be in trouble with his creditors. Shakespeare needs a muse (meaning a woman) Enter Violet, lovely daughter of a wealthy merchant. She is betrothed to a titled lout and loves the theater. Dressed as a boy since women were not allowed to be players, she auditions for and wins the role of Romeo in the comedy Shakespeare is writing called "Romeo and Ethel the Pirate's daughter." As Will and Violet embark on a doomed romance, his play changes from a comedy to one of Will Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, "Romeo and Juliet". "Shakespeare in Love" gets an A+. The editing, direction and acting are superb. This is about as perfect as a movie can get.

(( Well lets get started tell us what kind of meat we need to get. DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF YOUR FAMILY YOU CAN DO IT ON ANY SIZE CHOP OF MEET THAT YOU WANT. I LIKE TO TAKE A TWO POUND PORK LOIN WHICH YOU CAN GO OUT AND GET YOURSELF. I LIKE TO CUT IT INTO PRETTY NICE THICK CHUNKS. SO BASICALLY WHAT YOU GOT HERE IS A BONELESS PORK CHOP. THESE MAY BE JUST A LITTLE TOO THICK SO I WILL CUT THIS ONE IN HALF. Then you like poke it with a fork you told me? THAT IS RIGHT. WHY DON'T YOU HAND ME THAT FORK THAT I HAVE LAID OUT THERE. THIS HELPS WITH THE MARINATING. WHAT I AM GOING TO DO IS POKE LIKE THIS. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS RIGHT OR NOT BUT I ALWAYS THOUGHT THIS HELPS GET THE MARINADE IN THERE. WHILE I AM TAKING CARE OF THESE, ANDREW WHY DON'T WE GET YOU STARTED ON THE MARINADE. Well the ingredients are laid out here very nice but you have to tell me what I need to be doing. FIRST YOU HAVE ABOUT 8 TABLESPOONS OF BROWN SUGAR THERE WHICH WE PRE-MEASURED OUT. PUT THAT IN THE GLASS DISH. THEN TAKE 4 TABLESPOONS OF TERIYAKI SAUCE. YOU CAN USE SOY SAUCE I THINK IT IS A LITTLE BIT TOO SALTY SO I TEND TO USE TERIYAKI. NOW THE NEXT ONE IS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO WANT TO HAVE SOME BOURBON ON HAND. Now here is the thing, there is just about..well none left in the bottom of this bottle? I HAD TO BORROW THAT FROM MY NEIGHBORS SO YOU WILL HAVE TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT THAT. ADD 4 TABLESPOONS INTO THE MIXTURE THERE. MAKE SURE YOU COUNT THEM IT IS EASY TO LOOSE TRACK OF THAT STUFF SOMETIMES. KEEP ON MIXING IT AROUND AND YOU WILL NOTICE THE ALCOHOL WILL DISSOLVE THE SUGAR RATHER RAPIDLY AND MAKE SURE YOU COAT THE PAN COMPLETELY. FOR EVERY POUND OF MEAT THAT YOU HAVE YOU WANT TO REMEMBER TO USE 4, 2, 2. NOW TAKE THE PORK AND SLAP SOME OF THAT DOWN IN THERE. THEY KIND OF LOOK LIKE BIG STEAKS DON'T THEY? REMEMBER WE PUT THE WHOLES IN THERE AND IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THEY KIND OF SOAK UP THE MARINADE LIKE A SPONGE. SO I MAKE SURE I PUSH DOWN ON EACH ONE SO WHEN IT COMES BACK UP INTO SHAPE IT SOAKS UP THE MARINADE. IT IS BEST TO MARINADE OVER NIGHT OR AT LEAST LET THEM SIT A MINIMUM OF AN HOUR. NOW IT IS TIME TO GRILL WHAT WE HAVE. THIS IS SOMETHING I LIKE TO DO MORE IN THE SUMMER TIME ANDREW, BUT WE WILL JUST RE-CREATE THE SUMMER TIME FEEL WITH THESE CHOPS. WHAT I HAVE HERE IS A CAST IRON GRILL PAN. NOW PUT THE CHOPS IN HERE AND AHHH THAT JUST SOUNDS GOOD DOESN'T IT. I WON'T SAY HOW LONG IT TOOK TO COOK MAINLY BECAUSE EVERYONE IS GOING TO LIKE IT DIFFERENT AND IT DEPENDS HOW THICK YOU CUT IT OFF THE LOIN. They smell good and you are going to be the only taste tester here. I WILL BE THE TASTE TESTER AND YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE IT IS COOKED ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND MAKE SURE THERE IS NO PINK IN THERE BUT YOU ALSO DO NOT WANT TO OVER COOK PORK EITHER. Steve says you can also probably do chicken with this recipe.
YEAH IT MAKES A GREAT GLAZE JUST REMEMBER TO LEAVE IT OVER NIGHT SOAKING IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. THIS IS GOOD AND IT HAS ONLY BEEN IN THERE AN HOUR. But you promise this is a great recipe. Prepare it the day before make it this summer..make it this winter you will love it. Thanks Steve Pardon...maybe sometime I am off for a week you can fill in as host for the weekend diner what do you think about that?? DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING FOR YOU????
