A school bus and two other vehicles collided this afternoon in Franklin County.
The accident happened about 3:30, in the southbound lanes of Route 220, at the Franklin-Henry County line.
It's unclear how many injuries there were.
Lifeguard 10 was sent to the scene and did transport at least one patient.
The bus was carrying students from Henry Elementary School, according to an employee in the Franklin County Schools transportation office.
Authorities also say traffic is backed up in for several miles from the scene of the accident.

It appears that the Roanoke school employee charged with raping an exotic dancer last month will not have to stand trial.

Those charges were dropped today in Roanoke General District Court. Kim Brandon Kennedy was accused of attacking the woman who performed at the Knights of (Pith-ias) Pythias building after she said she refused to have sex with him. But prosecutors say the woman wasn't cooperating with the case.

Over the next two years, Ericsson plans to cut 11-thousand jobs worldwide.

A Montgomery County judge just minutes ago found Robert Crook Senior guilty of first degree murder.

Circuit Judge Ray Grubbs convicted Crook of killing 36-year-old Michael Durham last March.
Durham was shot 5 times and his body was dumped on an isolated road just outside Blacksburg.
In court, Crook admitted shooting Durham while the two were riding down the road.
Crook said he fired the gun because he thought Durham had grabbed a gun from inside his boot, but two other men in the car that night testified they never saw the victim with a weapon.
Crook will be sentenced in March.
