Investigators got the green light to take finger prints from the Dublin woman accused of trying to hire an undercover police officer to kill her ex- boyfriend.

Sources say 39-year old Peggy Jo Sullivan wanted the undercover officer to kill Scott Hammond of Floyd County.
Sullivan was arrested last month while meeting with the undercover agent in the parking lot of a Dublin fast food restaurant.

When investigators searched Sullivan's vehicle a few minutes later they found two pipe bombs inside her truck.
The judge signed the order today giving police permission to take Sullivan's fingerprints.
Sullivan was supposed to have a bond hearing today but it was postponed at the request of her attorney.

A Roanoke man has been indicted for murder and arson, in the death of his room-mate.
David Lee Griffin is charged in the 1997 fatal fire in northeast Roanoke.

The fire in the Eastgate neighborhood trapped James Cline inside the house..
Griffin later told police that he tried to get to Cline's bedroom, but couldn't make it.

A new medicine to combat the flu is showing promise.

This experimental treatment appears to cut flu symptoms in half. The drug is called GS-4-104. There are already effective medications to stop the flu.... but they seem to work better in adults. G-S 4-104 is also working well in children who tend to get more complications associated with the flu like ear and sinus infections, and pneumonia. The medicine must be used within the first 48 hours of symptoms to effectively block the flu virus in the body from multiplying.

Hospitals participating in the study are looking for volunteers. U-V-A Health Sciences Center is one of them.
