A man is fighting for his life tonight after an afternoon shooting in Roanoke. Rodney Brent McNair is in critical condition.
He was found by police with an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. Witnesses say the shooting followed a fight involving a dozen people at the intersection of Chapman Avenue and 14th Street.

Bedford County authorities have charged a man with embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from a charity he was raising money for.
39- year- old Anthony R. Perrow was arrested yesterday on grand larceny and embezzlement warrants.

Perrow was the former head fundraiser for the Forest Athletic Association, which is raising money to improve its recreation center on Route 811.

Sheeba is feeling better now, but still has a scar.
Yesterday, Roanoke police arrrested 19-year old James Anthony Via and charged him with animal cruelty.
It was apparently a random incident- Harmon says she does NOT know Via, who's being held in the Roanoke city jail, without bond.
Harmon says from now on, she's only letting her dogs outside, with supervision.

More than 200 of the state's top Group Three-A wrestlers have set up shop in Franklin County this week.

((23 teams and 224 wrestlers are competing for regional titles and a spot in the state wrestling tournament.
Franklin county, The power in the R-V-D have won regional titles 5 of the last 10 years. However, the Eagles finished second in the region last season.)) ((KRIS KAHILA/FRANKLIN CO.
