A suspected bank robber is finally in police custody today in Pulaski.

Authorities picked up 39-year old Michael Anthony Hight around 9 last night at his Pulaski home.
Investigators say around 9-30 a-m on February 5-th a man entered the Community National Bank and gave the teller a note demanding cash.
The note also indicated the man had a gun.
The suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is being held at the Pulaski County jail without bond.

A judge has sentenced a man and his former girlfriend to several years in prison for child abuse.
Last summer the couple brought the woman's 19-month old son to a hospital--vomiting blood and covered with marks and bruises.
Yesterday, a Franklin County judge sentenced William Roy Ingram to a total of 10 years in prison.
Rebecca Andrews was sentenced to more than a year.

An official with the Roanoke County school board said a report about the superintendent's retirement was premature.

But, School Board Chairwoman Marion Roark says--quote-- "nothing is definite at this point" and "that the board has not discussed the matter."
