90- year Ora Lee Phillips died yesterday when the car she was riding in crashed on Route 221, just outside the town of Floyd.
State police say Phillips' daughter, Eunice Perdue, was behind the wheel.

And southwest cattle farmers also won a victory in the House.
The Delegates voted to place a bounty on the heads of coyotes.
About 28- hundred coyotes are now legally killed each year in Virginia.
The bounty would pay hunters to do the job.

State lawmakers beat a midnight deadline and came through with a budget compromise to spend 275- Million dollars in lottery profits on schools.
Half of that money will go to schools with no strings attached, the other half will be restricted to school construction and other specified needs.

In an attempt to attract customers, the newly- opened Sheetz gas station in New London is selling "87" octane for 69- nine cents a gallon.
Other gas stations such as Huddlestons General Store at Smith Mountain Lake sell gas for just under 69 cents.
Nationwide, the average price of a gallon of gas has dipped below one dollar for the first time in decades.
Experts say prices will probably rebound this spring.
