The Breakout process concluded yesterday, after 48 hours of physical endurance and mental challenges, where rats pushed their limits in order to become an official class.
The rats rose early Sunday morning for an 18 and a half mile march, which ended with the re-creation of the charge of VMI cadets during the Civil War Battle of New Market.
Several parents made the trip to the battle site.

The end of the 19-99 General Assembly session Saturday marked the beginnning of election campaigning.
All 140 seats in the legislature will be up for grabs in November.
Right now, the balance of power is even in the one hundred- member House of Delegates, while Republicans have a one- seat advantage in the 40- member Senate.
Look for food tax relief, health insurance regulation and imported trash to be major election issues.
