Yesterday the high court ruled that disabled students are entitled to one-on-one nursing care and that schools must foot the bill.
Currently, Roanoke County provides full-time aides for about 75 disabled students. Not all of the aides have the medical training required by the new law.

The project links students to the man who discovered Titanic- Robert Ballard is now exploring the rainforests of Peru.

The Cleveland Browns have added another San Francisco 49-er to their Roster. Running back Terry Kirby signed with the club today making him the sixth ex-niner to go to the expansion team.
The 29 year old Kirby spent the last three season in Frisco where he caught 246 passes for nearly 25 hundred Yards.

The Virginia Cavaliers made an early exit from the A-C-C basketball tournament losing to the Blue Devils of Duke.

A cold wind was blowing the March madness signs just outside the Spectrum in Philly.
The Hokies got off to a fast start, watch Eddie Lucas come out of now where and snap the nylon from three point range to put Tech out in front by four points. Lucas finished with a team high 17.
Temple then beats the Tech zone, Kevin Lyde completes the play with the basket to close the Hokies lead to a bucket. Lyde tallied 15 points.

The former Boy scout who grew up in Louisiana was fishing for donations, but what he really loves to do is hunt big game.

Reed did most everything correctly during his playing days with the Knicks.
In ten seasons he scored over 12 thousand points and grabbed more than 8000 rebounds, played in seven all-star games and won 2 world titles.
His career will always be defined by his game seven performance in 1970 against the Lakers when he came back from a thigh injury to lead the Knicks over the Lakers.

Karnes, who recently completed his fifth season as the girls head coach, and the school decided this week that he would devote his complete focus to the girls program. He resigns as the boys coach after one season. The Golden Eagles were 1 and 19. Karnes entered the 1998-99 girls and boys basketball seasons having lost a combined 14 seniors from both teams from the previous year. No replacement has been named at this time.

Colorado outfielder Larry Walker received a new contract today.

The Rockies signed Walker to a six year, 75-million dollar contract today. The deal will pay Walker about 12 and a half million dollars a year in base salary making his pay the sixth highest annual salary in baseball.
The contract will keep Walker in Colorado for seven more years since he has one more year on his remaining contract.
