Ashby was the pilot whose plane sent 20 people to their deaths on an Italian mountainside last year.

Mike Tyson will have to serve an extra 60 days behind bars in Maryland for violating his probation in Indiana.

Tyson will have to serve the additional sentence at the end of the one year term he is serving in Montgomery County Maryland.
Tyson was already on probation for a 1992 rape conviction when he was sent to jail this year on charges he assaulted two men in Maryland following a traffic accident.

The former Virginia Tech student who sued Virginia Tech and two football players accused of raping her, has lost her latest round in federal court.

Christy Brzonkala was one of the first people in the country to sue under the Violence Against Women Act, legislation passed by Congress in 1994.
Today, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court ruling that declared the act unconstitutional.
Virginia Tech was sued under a different law forbidding sexual discrimination at schools that receive federal funding. And today, officials said they're pleased with the court's ruling.

South Main Street in Blacksburg looks nothing like it did just a year ago.
This week, construction crews began removing trees and tearing down vacant businesses to make room for a new interchange and bypass.
VDOT describes it as a massive project that will take a little more than THREE years to complete.

Construction on phase ONE began about a year ago in Christiansburg.

A wreck on highway 2-20 this morning knocked down a power line and backed up traffic for miles.
But it didn't take any human casualties.

Most injuries were suffered by concrete gnomes and lawn ornaments.
They were on display at a gas station when a tractor trailer slammed into them.
Police said they planned to charge the truck driver with reckless driving, even though he wasn't speeding.
The truck spilled nearly a hundred gallons of diesel fuel, but not enough to harm people or the environment, according to police.
There was no estimate on the amount of damage done.

DESPITE DELAYS FOR THE ACTUAL SPACECRAFT, THE X-33 IS EXPECTED TO LIFT OFF IN JULY 2000 - JUST 16 MONTHS FROM NOW.

Sony Computer Entertainment says it is coming out with a new version of its Playstation video game system.

The Playstation Two is more powerful with a bigger memory and better graphics.
It will use a 128 bit processor and is four times more powerful than the current system.
The Playstation Two stores information on D-V-D ROM which is a step up from the common CD-ROM used in today's system.
It will go on sale in Japan in the fall, but it will not hit American shelves until next year. There's no word on the cost of the new system.
Sega has already announced it will have a similar system on the market in time for Christmas.
