If you're heading out on the roads this morning you may want to check in with V-Dot before you leave.
Most roads, including interstates 81 and 64, from Rockbridge and Alleghany Counties northward are reported to be in moderate condition.
Moderate condition means major portions of pavement are covered with snow, slush and ice.
The same goes for Interstates 81 and 77 in Carroll, Wythe, Pulaski and Smyth Counties.
In many places, there's a thin layer of ice under the snow which can make driving very dangerous.
V-Dot officials say they have not treated any secondary roads this morning.
They are concentrating on the Interstates and primary roads.
