[SUPER=03-Roanoke Co.]

They started at about 2:30 in the Back Creek section of the county, off Martin's Creek Road.
One was just an acre, and firefighters soon had that under control.
The other one was about five acres and was coming close to a subdivision.
Several crews and a helicopter from the state forestry department are working on that one.
Officials don't know yet how the fires started.

Another fire near Green Hill Park has also broken out, and was threatening a house off Harborwood Road and Terrace Drive. Crews are on the scene trying to control that blaze, too.
And state forestry officials say about three acres have burned off Route 622 in Botetourt County. That was also th

reatening a house at one point, but officials say that one's pretty much under control. [5-Sawmill-fire]
