They'll turn the former textiles plant into a workforce training program with computer labs, vocational classes and a business incubator.

Galax authorities responded to a call today that someone was shot -- and discovered two bodies.
63 year old Carol Higgins was found dead inside her home on Poplar Knob Road.
64 year old James Higgins was discovered outside the home..
Both were found with gunshot wounds to the head. Police say the case is being handle as a homicide.

A gun found in the James River near Lynchburg today could be linked to a murder in Appomattox County six months ago.

Acting on a tip, state police divers searched this area of the river in Madison Heights.
They found this small caliber, semi- automatic handgun about forty feet from shore.
Investigators say there's a "good chance" it's the gun used to kill 35-year old Nick Olivarri last September.
Olivarri's wife and another man have been charged with his killing.

Instead a motel manager found him hanging from a bedsheet in a Las Vegas motel room.
Police say there was no sign of drug use.

The 29 year old was given three years probation last October for cocaine possession. He was due in court to report his progress.
