Patients made the move last weekend, and today the New River Valley welcomed its newest hospital with a formal dedication.

It turns out a man arrested by Roanoke Police in a routine stop two weeks ago was not only armed and dangerous- -he's wanted in New Jersey for attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault.
When they checked his fingerprints, they determined his real name is Charles Andre Jackson, Junior.
Jackson told police he was carrying a phony I-D, because he realized he was a fugitive and knew he was prohibited from having a gun as a convicted felon.

Police say 27- year- old Harry Eugene Mitchell kicked in the front door of his ex- girlfriend's home on Bell Street and opened fire on the occupants inside.
34- year- old Lisa A. Prior was killed.. her sister, Debra Dawson was shot twice but survived.
Mitchell then turned the gun on himself.
Authorities say the shootings stemmed from domestic problems between Mitchell and Prior.
