More schools in western and southside Virginia are stepping up their fight against illegal drugs. Today, authorities in Halifax and Pittsylvania Counties brought in drug dogs for unannounced searches., with mixed results.

Virginians will be paying less for their groceries starting this summer, now that Governor Jim Gilmore has signed into law a bill reducing the state's food tax.
