ITT Night Vision was awarded a nine- million dollar contract by the U-S Army today.

The Roanoke County company will produce an improved mount for attaching night vision goggles to infantry helmets.
The new helmet mount eliminates "wobbling" and improves the vertical tilt, which is useful when a soldier is lying on the ground.
ITT received a similar contract last September.
Taken together, the two deals make I-T-T the sole supplier of improved metal-helmet mounts for the Army.

The company's 68-thousand-dollar fine has been cut in half by way of a settlement.

A northwest Roanoke house fire is under investigation tonight.

No one was home or injured in the blaze.
Investigators are trying to determine if the fire started inside or outside the house.
