Overnight police chases ended with one person dead and another injured.
In Danville officers were chasing 47-year old Harvey Lee Wimbush who was driving on the wrong side of the road.
A few minutes later Wimbush crashed into a tree along Stokes Street and died at the scene.
And, in Montgomery County, police were tailing a suspected drunk driver along Senaca Hollow Road.
The suspect lost control of his vehicle and crashed.
The victim was later airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

The Best Western Motel in Radford was robbed early this morning.
Now, Radford police are looking for a suspect.
Authorities say a black man wearing a ski mask, turqoise shirt and khaki pants displayed a hand gun and took an undisclosed amount of money from the motel.
The suspect is believed to be about 5 feet-10 inches tall and weighs between 150 and 180 pounds.

Radford University's gymnastics program has broken school records under a new head coach.
Up next for the Highlanders is a national meet.

(( This is Lisa Woody-Green's first year as the Highlanders head coach. And when she hit the scene things changed. Woody-Green was use to winning, as a gymnast herself at Texas Woman's University and then as an assistant there.

Woody-Green admits she wasn't popular at first and her gymnasts agree.

The team has set school records and is now preparing for a trip to New Haven, Connecticut, and the USGA Championships which start on the 15th.
This is the first time in 17 years Radford has qualified as a team for a national competition.

Jill Caruso is one of the team leaders and another bright spot for the Highlanders.
This is the second straight year she has qualified for the N-C-Double-A Southeast Regional Gymnastics Competition.
The Regional meet is at the University of West Virginia next week.
