There are reports out of the Middle East this morning that Libya has handed over two suspects in the 19-88 Pan Am 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland.

The suspects are to face trial in the Netherlands, with Scottish judges presiding.
The agency says a United Nations representative was present for the handover, which it calls a ``historical moment.''
Families of some of the bombing victims were reportedly also present.
270 people were killed, most of them Americans.

Thousands of Virginia shipyard workers are on strike this morning.
Members of the United Steelworkers union formed picket lines outside Newport News Shipbuilding early this morning.
The union represents the shipyard's 92-hundred hourly employees.
Workers want an across-the board hourly pay increase.
The company said it would continue operations using salaried employees.

Radford police are still looking for the man they think robbed the Best Western Motel yesterday morning.
Authorities say a black man wearing a ski mask, turqoise shirt and khaki pants displayed a hand gun and took an undisclosed amount of money from the motel.
The suspect is believed to be about 5 feet-10 inches tall and weighs between 150 and 180 pounds.

He was convicted of killing his girlfriend's parents , Derek and Nancy Haysom, in 1985.
After a lengthy international extradition battle, Soering ended up back in Bedford County. His lawyer, Rick Neaton wanted the case moved out of Bedford to escape the impact of the media. He had doubts his client would get a fair trial there.
Public interest in the case soared.
News 7 not only had regular reports during each newscast, but broadcast extended excerpts of the trial each night.
Anyone interested in the case had access to the proceedings right to the end.

Thousands of tourists and local residents came out to enjoy the 87th annual National Cherry Blossom Festival.
The event brings attention to the cherry trees surrounding the Tidal Basin in East and West Potomac Parks on the Nation's Mall.
The three- thousand cherry trees were a gift to Washington from the city of Tokyo back in 19-12.
This year's festival runs until Sunday.

As the assault on Belgrade continues, NATO's website has been attacked by hackers using viruses and mass-e-mail assaults. Web access and e-mail services was disrupted.
In Belgrade itself, independent radio station B-92 is struggling to survive.
The station broadcast in Realaudio after the Serbs took its transmitter... Friday, they were forced to stop internet broadcast as well.
A group of online supporters is working to get B92 back on the air somehow.

Some 92-hundred hourly workers at Newprt News Shipbuilding are on strike this morning.
They want an across-the board hourly pay increase.
The company said it would use salaried employees to continue operations.

There's still a long way to go, but members of Jerry Falwell's Thomas Road Baptist Church have taken the first step toward a new building.
They broke ground yesterday on a 22-million dollar, 12-thousand seat church.
