The defendant in a capital murder case in Bedford County has waived his right to a trial by jury.

24 year old Andre Evans is accused of gunning down two men in Bedford in the fall of 1997 during an argument over sneakers.
At a motions hearing today, Evans said he wanted a judge to hear his case, not a jury.
He also will undergo two separate psychological evaluations over the next 10 days.
His trial is scheduled to begin April 19th.

A state examiner positively identified the body of Richard Charles Holt, Senior today .. and confirmed he died from a gunshot wound.
A friend discovered Holt's body Sunday. Investigators believe he was killed eight days ago, when a neighbor heard gunshots and saw Holt's car being driven away.
