Two buildings were damaged in an early morning fire in Roanoke today.

The blaze broke out around 4 this morning at an apartment complex at 375 Elm Avenue.
Firefighters quickly evacuated apartment residents and no one was injured.
A neighboring building suffered some smoke and heat damage.
The fire is considered to be suspicious but officials still don't know what caused it.

Five years after its grand opening in Halifax County, the Dettra Flag building is getting a new tenant.
The world's biggest flag maker is moving in.

Paper maker Westvaco is joining three other companies in what it's calling a forestry biotechnology venture.
The goal is finding a way to help forests grow trees faster.
Westvaco needs to grow those trees so it can cut them down to make paper.

On Wall Street, the Dow climbed 341 points this week, closing at 10-thousand-173.
The NASDAQ ended with another record close: 25-93.

Most men dread having to hop on a lawn mower this time of year..

In fact he's taken his out for an extended ride cross-country.
Brad Hautter said he always wanted to travel across America, he just never thought he'd do it on a lawn mower.
His trip has taken him thousands of miles so far and along many back roads.
He's averaging about 15 miles per hour but slows the pace every now and then to help cut part of a lawn or two.
His journey is scheduled to wrap up in June when he reaches Santa Monica, California.
If he makes it he'll likely set a new world record for the longest, continuous trip on a lawn mower.
