George Felix Allen came home to the law office where he kicked off bids for the House of Delegates, Congress, and eventually the Governor's mansion.
While no surprise, it is a very early announcement.
[sot 10:43:29]

((GEORGE ALLEN/R-U.S. SENATE CANDIDATE: IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE AN ENORMOUS TASK AHEAD OF US. IT IS NOT AN EASY TASK TO UNSEAT A U-S SENATOR-- WHO IS AN INCUMBENT OBVIOUSLY. AND SO WE FELT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO START ORGANIZING NOW.))

Indeed, Democrat Chuck Robb survived the fight of his political life in 1994, despite an acknowledgement of conduct unbecoming of a married man.
Allen never directly addressed Robb's scandals.

Allen has a key advantage the last Republican running against Robb did NOT have: the support of senior Senator John Warner.
