The pilot was David Matthews Smith, age 42 of Winchester... passengers Warren C. Moorman, age 73 of Hardy.
And two men from Frederick Maryland, 56 year old John James Gordon, and 42 year old Steve Hunt McGuigan.
Based on the wreckage at the scene, investigators say there is NO evidence of fire, and the plane did have fuel on board when it crashed.
There were high winds in the area at the time of the crash.

High winds wreaked havoc on drivers yesterday - and even some folks just sitting inside a home.
In Carroll County two tractor trailers were blown over almost simultaneously on Interstate 77 around 12-30.
State Police say wind gusts were clocked at as much as 127 miles per hour in the area.
No one was injured in either accident, but the Northbound lanes of I-77 were shut down for about 40 minutes.

27-year- old Dennis Roy Yancy is charged with murder in the death of 22- year- old Marie Parker, who disappeared in 19-97.
Yancy is also accused of kidnapping, conspiracy charges, and evidence tampering.

It was a dramatic rescue yesterday of an Atlanta construction worker-

The un- identified worker was trapped on top of a burning crane.
He'd been stuck on the crane for more than an hour before rescue workers came along.
Hot flames and thick smoke made it tough for emergency crews to reach the man.
A firefighter was eventually attached to a cable and airlifted to him.
Once on the ground, the man walked by himself to a stretcher, and was rushed to the hospital.

Amherst County sheriff's deputies want to add emergency medical services to their list of responsibilities.

Former antique dealer Clyde S. Bryant has admittied to defrauding millions of dollars.

As part of a plea agreement, Bryant will plead guilty to money laundering and wire fraud at a May 17-th hearing in U-S District court in Roanoke.
Federal prosecutors will ask that Bryant be sentenced to five years in prison and forced to repay his victims 2-point-5 million dollars.
In September, Prosecutors said the money was allegedly used to pay for Bryant's personal expenses and gambling debts.

Lynchburg officials unveiled their "no frills" budget for the next fiscal year yesterday.

The 101- million dollar spending plan represents about a four percent increase over last year's budget.
Most of that new spending will help provide a four percent merit pay increase for city employees.
Lynchburg is also spending 700- thousand dollars to protect itself from the "Y-2-K" bug.
The budget also holds the line on all city taxes.

The bank opened the doors yesterday in downtown Salem.
This marks the fourth branch opening in just four years that Valley Bank has been in business.
Salem City Council members were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Mayor Sonny Tarpley and Congressman Bob Goodlatte did the honors.
Plans are underway for a fifth branch to open in the fall of 2000.

Today, federal investigators will begin searching for the cause of yesterday's plane crash that claimed 4 lives in Montgomery county.
Police say the twin engine Beechcraft apparently lost power and spun into the mountainside Based on the wreckage at the scene, investigators say there is NO evidence of fire, and the plane did have fuel on board when it crashed.
However, there were high winds in the area at the time.
