Some studies found bone marrow transplants don't help women with advanced breast cancer live longer. But a new report is the first to provide solid information of it's benefits. The aggressive treatment uses ultrahigh doses of chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. The marrow transplant is to repair the immune system destruction caused by the high-dose therapy.
