The cost for the palate surgery is about 1500 dollars. The fee for nasal somnoplasty is covered by insurance, but palate surgery is not. Doctors say the next step for the Roanoke Valley is to use the procedure for obstructive sleep apnea.

British researchers have discovered an effective form of male birth control and it's already on the market.

In the new study men took the hormone progesterone. It reduced their sperm count to zero. The men were also given a testosterone patch to prevent side effects like a decreased sex drive.
The process is easily reversed.
Doctors could write prescriptions for men now, but most will likely want to wait until practice is proven safe.
