In higher elevations along the Blue Ridge Mountains, entire groves of American dogwoods have been wiped out by a fungus.
A plant pathologist at Virginia Tech, says he's convinced all the wild dogwoods on Skyline Drive will be gone within 30 years.
The fungus can be treated, but each treatment costs from 100 to 500 dollars -- and tree experts suggest repeating the treatment up to three times a year.

tailor-made way of distracting attention away from allegations that the Chinese stole nuclear weapons secrets from US.
Still letting demonstrators loose is something the Chinese leadership knows is dangerous...
...so no surprise that China's vice president told a nationwide audience that, while the government backed the protest, the police will not let protesters off their very short leash focusing on the American attack.
