Michigan prosecutors say it could have been another massacre at school if they had not arrested four teenagers.
The two youngest defendants were in court today- where the judge refused to let the two walk free.

((They are only 12 and 13 years old, but prosecutors say these are two of
the 4 masterminds behind the deadly plot. They say the boys, whose faces
we can't show you, hoped it would be bigger than last month's Colorado
high school massacre.
Michael Wendling, Prosecutor, "We're talking about an actual plan
that involved the obtaining of weapons through violence, your honor, and
then turning these weapons on both faculty and students pursuant to a
plan where they would get as many students and faculty in one close area
to achieve the highest kill ratio.
Last week, after receiving a tip, Port Huron police arrested the boys
and two 14 year olds. They're charged with hatching an intricate plan to
kill students and teachers using guns and bombs.
One suspect's mother says her son has never done anything worse than
talk in class.
Colleen Fick, Defendant's Mother, "He's been an honor roll student
since third grade. He's never been in trouble. I think he was just with
the wrong group at the wrong time.
Levinson As a sign of how seriously he views the charges, Judge
Shane Burleigh ordered the boys held on 100-thousand dollars bond. If

A Catawba man is dead after apparently losing control of his pickup truck in Roanoke County.

83 year old Ashby Thomas ran off the road onto the shoulder on Route 311 near the Craig County line.
When he pulled the truck back onto the road, he crossed the center line, hitting an on-coming car head on.
Thomas was killed .. and the driver of the other car, an unidentified woman, was airlifted to the hospital with serious leg injuries.
Police say an airbag saved the woman's life.

An examiner for the Virginia Racing Commission is recommending sanctions against Colonial Downs.
In a report released today, the examiner says the state's only pari-mutuel track has "deliberately defied" state orders.
Colonial Downs has failed to reach a contract agreement with the horsemen's association.
And the purse money it put up for this season falls below the level the Racing Commission ordered.
Colonial Downs could lose its license temporarily to operate off-track betting parlors around the state, and the track faces a possible fine.

A school bus driver from Washington D-C and a nurse in Roanoke were indicted today for stealing social security benefits.
Sixty-four year old Ruby M. Perry was Sir Walter Faison's live-in nurse. They lived together on Wilmont Avenue in Roanoke- -until he died in 1994. The government says she continued to collect Faison's social security check- -almost 20-thousand dollars.
In the other case, Nancy J. Fletcher is accused of stealing her BROTHER's social security benefits after his death. The checks were being mailed to post office boxes in Madison Heights and Lynchburg.

In tonight's video of the day, a tractor trailer carrying sixteen cows overturned on Interstate 40 in Conway, Arkansas.
The cows got loose and decided to roam.
No one was hurt in the accident.
It took police hours to get the cows off the road and back into their cages.
