When a barn catches fire- it's usually out of control quickly- fueled by hay and wood.

A bus and car collided in Halifax County this afternoon- killing two people.
It happened about about 4:30 on Route 58 about five miles west of Route 360 between South Boston and Turbaville.
Witnesses passing by say the car was lodged underneath the bus-
State Police tell News 7 two people were killed in the crash, but names will not be released until family is notified.
Traffic on 58 was backed up- and rerouted for several hours after the accident.

Despite a lone holdout, a Lynchburg jury handed down a life sentence to convicted killer Darrell Lamont Fleming today.

Fleming was found guilty of stabbing 16- year- old Corey Pennix to death last August, then stealing drugs and money from his body.
The jury at first told Judge Richard Miller this morning they were deadlocked at 11 to 1.. but after another thirty minutes of deliberations, came back with a life sentence.
One juror told News7 the holdout had wanted to give Fleming the death penalty.
Fleming will be sentenced in July.

Southside women are getting the opportunity to be part of a nationwide study of breast cancer.

Danville's oncology center will begin interviewing post-menopausal women next week who are at high risk of developing breast cancer.
The women who participate in the trial will get free preventative breast cancer treatment for five-years.
Half the women in the study will take the breast cancer drug Tamoxifen (TAM-OX-A-FEN).
The other half will take Raloxifene (RAL-OX-A-FEEN), which is normally used to treat osteoporosis. Doctors say Raloxifene shows strong promise in preventing breast cancer.

In less than one hour it will become the first shuttle to dock with the new orbiting outpost.
The shuttle will drop off tons of equipment for the space station- which is 230 miles above earth.
The space station now consists of two rooms- Eventually it will have about a dozen rooms and stretch longer than a football field.
