The House of representatives passed a measure today that could allow schools and government buildings to post the ten commandments.

The measure is a part of the juvenile crime bill. It's an effort some lawmakers say is the first step toward re-instilling the value of human life in kids influenced by a violent culture.
Some local residents thinks it's a good idea,while others say it violates the separation of church- and is not a solution.

But one local resident who's on the Roanoke County School Security committee says this is a quick fix to a much bigger problem...and really wouldn't have an impact.

David Nixon is an expert on landlord-tenant law.
He said apartment landlords have to go to court to evict tenants... but hotel owners can evict for almost any reason.

The U-S Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of a local killer's death sentence.

The high court ruled today that prosecutors did "not" violate Tommy David Strickler's rights by withholding evidence during his 1990 trial.
Strickler was convicted of the abduction, robbery and murder of Roanoke native Leann Whitlock.
His lawyers had argued that inconsistent statements an eyewitness gave to police might have made a difference with the jury.
No new execution date has been set.

Danville police say they have a suspect in the shooting death of a 24-year old man last month.
And they're offering up to one-thousand dollars for information leading to his capture.

Police are looking for 29-year old Harry Lee Fuller Junior in connection with the shooting of Fabian Wimbush last month.

Authorities say an argument that started outside a convenience store ended several blocks away, where Wimbush died of a gunshot wound the leg.
