One union member says the dispute is over benefits.

The union represents more than 600 workers...and has been negotiating with ITT for two weeks.
Typically, talks between the two have lasted up to the deadline.

The union must first meet with its membership to determine what to do next if an agreement is not reached.

The company, which embroidered athletic apparel, at one time had plans to hire up to one-thousand workers.

One way for the county to reclaim some of that money is if 5-B's turns over ownership of the building.

More trouble with the law tonight for two Bedford County women accused of embezzling nearly 300-thousand dollars.

A federal grand jury has added two new indictments to the case against Thelma Barger and Dorothy Saunders.
Authorities say Barger defrauded her mother-in law and another woman of more than eight thousand dollars through insurance policy scams.
Barger and Saunders also stand accused of bilking two sisters out of their life savings and using the money to build an elaborate mansion near Huddleston.
Their trial is set for September.

A Wythe County farmer and his family are among the few growers in our area who aren't battling the drought.
That's because Roger Martin

In other words, the Martins 535- plants are grown without soil.
The roots are kept in a bag which contains a compound that promotes growth and receives a mixture of fertilizer and water several times a day.

A manhunt is on in Carroll County for a man and the woman he's suspected of taking hostage.

The search is focused in a secluded area behind Fancy Gap Elementary School.
It all started this afternoon when a female motorist passing through gave a note to a clerk at an Exxon station in Cana (kay-nuh) asking the clerk to call 9-1-1.
A few minutes later Sheriff Warren Manning pulled a Jeep over with the woman inside.
The male driver then sped off.
Police continued to pursue the vehicle until the driver eventually ran through a fence - and the Jeep caught fire.
The man and woman fled on foot and haven't been seen since.
