Danville police say they have a suspect in the shooting death of a 24-year old man last month.
And they're offering up to one-thousand dollars for information leading to his capture.

Police are looking for 29-year old Harry Lee Fuller Junior in connection with the shooting of Fabian Wimbush last month.

Authorities say an argument that started outside a convenience store ended several blocks away, where Wimbush died of a gunshot wound the leg.
Authorities believe Fuller may still be in the area. If you have any information, contact Danville police.

The U-S Supreme Court has cleared the way for the execution of Tommy David Strickler.

The high court ruled yesterday that prosecutors did "not" violate Strickler's rights by withholding evidence during his 1990 trial.
Strickler was convicted of the abduction, robbery and murder of Roanoke native Leann Whitlock.
His lawyers had argued that inconsistent statements an eyewitness gave to police might have made a difference with the jury.
No new execution date has been set.

The county started naming streets - instead of just going by numbers - to facilitate the emergency 9-1-1 system 2 years ago.

The company says they've been negotiating for two weeks.
The union's four-year contract expires at midnight on Friday.
Typically, talks between the union and I-T-T last up to the deadline.
One union member says the dispute is over benefits.
A union spokesman says it's still too early to say if the workers will strike if they don't get a deal.

Schools will be able to post the Ten Commandments --
under a measure passed by the House yesterday.
Lawmakers have approved an amendment that would let states
decide whether to put up the Ten Commandments in schools and other
government buildings.
The measure is part of a juvenile crime bill.

(( The House voted by an overwhelming majority - 248 to 180 - to permit the states the opportunity to decide if their schools and government buildings should post the ten commandments.
Two out of three of our local representatives also voted in favor of the measure.
Democrat Virgil Goode and Republican Bob Goodlatte voted for it...and Democrat Rick Boucher was against it.
But one local resident who's on the Roanoke County School Security committee says this is a quick fix to a much bigger problem...and really wouldn't have an impact.

Yesterday's ceremony was held along the Huckleberry Trail.
That's where the Rotary Club along with the town and university have teamed up to erect a memorial park in honor of Richard Talbot.
In the early 1970's-- Talbot was instrumental in helping create the vet school and was named its founding dean in 1974.
Five years ago-- he died in a plane crash but his contributions haven't been forgotten.

He said apartment landlords have to go to court to evict tenants... but hotel owners can evict for almost any reason.

The program matches seniors and alumni with failing students to help them graduate.
