It was just days before commencement exercises at V-M-I, Webb was stripped of his position as Honor Court Vice President and he was sent packing.
The Rockbridge Advocate reported a month ago that "Webb allegedly used his perceived powers as an assistant prosecutor to get the women to 'certify' that they would keep quiet...."
Certification is a point of honor at V-M-I, and to violate the honor code is a dismissable offense.
The newspaper indicates Institute investigators got the women to talk by waiving that "certification," convincing them they would not be disciplined.))

V-M-I Spokesman Mike Strickler says a "confidential memo" went to Judge Kiser in late May, with a copy to the U-S Justice Department, outlining the incident.
Judge Kiser did not put the memo in the public file. And he declined to make it public yesterday.

A Roanoke County judge says Al Bedrosian doesn't have to pay 47-hundred dollars to his former campaign manager.
The judge ruled yesterday that unsuccessful House of Delegates candidate doens't have to use personal funds to pay Greg McMahon.
McMahon said he left Bedrosian's campaign in September 1997 after spending months trying to settle differences between the candidate and the state G-O-P.
The party eventually pulled financial support from the campaign.
