It's called Operation Street Sweeper... And because of it - 30 people have been arrested on drug charges in Roanoke tonight.
40 others have charges pending against them... And arrests are continuing through the night.
The arrests started at 5 this evening - the culmination of an undercover operation that started in December - to reduce the amount of drugs on Roanoke city streets.
The majority of indictments involve crack cocaine, but some involve L-S-D, marijuana and weapons charges.

((Seven days a week, Tom Shrader visits the downtown YMCA to lift weights. Amazing, considering a bulging disk in his back and a deteriorating hip make simple movements like walking painful. ((:)) Two weeks ago, he placed sixth in the Masters Mr. America, the AAU national Championships in the 50 to 59 year old age group. Part of his secret is thinking like a champion, especially when it comes to his injuries. ((:))
Shrader trains with Dawn Triplett, who, at 34, is 17 years younger. ((:)) When most people his age are thinking about retiring, Shrader is just getting started and like the ever ready bunny....he plans to keep going and going. ((:))
Shrader's next competition is in a couple of weeks, Steve Mason, news 7 sports.))

and kids in Michigan got to do just that today...
Today is Mud Day and it's an annual tradition in the Detroit area.
The folks at this park turned the fields into a huge mosh pit, then invited local children to get down and dirty.

Even a few so-called grown ups joined in on the muddy fun.
