Shortly before midnight, deputies found John Joseph Mesics dead in his home on Silverleaf Road in the Dugspur section of Carroll County.
Authorities say a 15 year old girl who lived with the Mesics stole one of their vehicles shortly after the incident.

In the wake of the controversy over a Robert E. Lee mural, they've now recommended 34 images to represent Richmond history - they'll be on display all this week.
The murals the advisory panel is now recommending include new black figures: like civil rights attorney Spottswood Robinson, and newspaper publisher John Mitchell, who organized a streetcar boycott.
