15- year old Robin Martin was arrested earlier this week for allegedly shooting her grandfather once in the head with a shotgun.

But yesterday a judge refused to release her after listening to testimony.
Martin is gifted academically but suffers from depression and is on probation for verbally assaulting her grandmother.

But prosecutor Greg Goad says investigators have found NO evidence of abuse and will seek to try Martin as an adult.

A judge wants to try former Virginia Tech quarterback Jim Druckenmiller in Montgomery County.

In a rare move, prosecutors filed a motion to move Druckenmiller's upcoming rape trial out of the county.
Prosecutors believe it will be hard to find an impartial jury because many locals are either football fans or tied to the university in some way.
Circuit Court Judge Ray Grubbs says he will keep the motion in mind but wants to seat a local jury.
Druckenmiller is scheduled to stand trial July 19th.

There is help for Roanoke city residents who want water their lawns and gardens.
Roanoke normally discharges recycled water from the City Sewage Treatment Plant back into the Roanoke River.
But now Roanoke is making that recycled water available to residents... Officials stress it's for irrigation only.
Residents can take containers to the sewage treatment plant at the intersection of Brownlee Avenue and Kindred Street. A garden hose is available around the clock.

A civil rights pioneer has died.
James Farmer died at a Fredricksburg hospital after battling pneumonia and diabetes.
He worked closely with Martin Luther King Junior and led Freedom Rides through the South.
Last year President Clinton awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
James Farmer was 79.

A mother and her infant survived a collision with a tractor trailer on Interstate 81.

Yesterday, 28- year- old Carol Lyn Tablett was heading south on the interstate near Salem.
She told police a baby blanket blew in her face and she lost control of her car.
Tablett's vehicle bounced off a guardrail then went under an 18- wheeler and was dragged for several yards.
Tablett and her four-month-old son suffered minor injuries and were treated and released.
Police say she'll be charged with reckless driving.

THe U-S Air Force is on its way to the bottom of the world to save the life of a scientist.

The woman is suffering from breast cancer so the air force is traveling thousands of miles to the South Pole to drop medical supplies and eqipment.
It's a 14 hour trip from New Zeland, this jet has been winterized in preparation for the 100 degrees below zero tempatures.
An air to air refueling like this one will have to take place inorder to make it to the south pole and back safely.

Once the supplies are dropped, they'll need to be retrieved quickly.

Water from six streams feeds into the Giles county Cascades, which pour 66 feet downward.
The Jefferson National Forest acquired the Cascades nearly four decades ago.
And year after year, it's the setting for many a summer outing.

A guiding light will soon shine again off the North Carolina coast.

The long journey for the nation's tallest lighthouse is over.
The 129-year-old Cape Hatteras traveled 29-hundred feet along rails to it's new home onto this concrete slab.
The move took three weeks.
But the work is not over yet.
Once on the pad, the steel rails will be replaced by supports and 140-thousand bricks will surround the lighthouse.

That's expected to take about six weeks.

The move cost 10-million dollars. They were put out for the first time in 50 years on March 1st. The lighthouse's twin beacons are supposed to be re-lit on Labor Day.
