Giles County's commonwealth attorney WILL be able to continue practicing law.
Garland Spangler was in jeopardy of losing his license following a state bar investigation for mishandling several criminal cases while serving as prosecutor.

There were also two instances in which Spangler failed to notify the court about a suspect's prior criminal record.

A Lynchurg man is dead and this afternoon police are still searching for his killer.

Police were called to 705 Stuart Street just before midnight.
That's where 26- year- old Morris Anthony of Hackensack, New Jersey had been shot several times in the chest and arms.
He died shortly after arriving at Lynchburg General Hospital.
The shooting took place in front of a woman and her eight- year- old son.
They told police the gunman burst through the front door, fired several shots at the victim, then ran out the back door.
There's been no word yet on his identity or whereabouts.

The truck overturned, blocking the westbound lanes.
Officials are diverting traffic into one eastbound lane, so traveling in both directions is slow going.
State police are trying to figure out what caused the wreck.
Some diesel fuel also leaked from the truck, but firefighters were able to contain that.

A group of activists who say a portrait of

Richmond Councilman Saad El-Amin plans to ask city attorneys today whether City Council must authorize any display because it's public property and public money was used to restore it.
A majority of council members have said they believe Lee's image should be part of the display.

Sharpton led some 350 protestors down a major artery in dowtown St. Louis, shutting it down in both directions.
The demonstrators were calling for Missouri to hire more minority contractors for highway construction projects.
Sharpton was arrested 20 minutes into the protest.
That led to more arrests, with many having to be carried to police vans when they refused to cooperate.
Traffic was reopened about an hour later.

Two Egyptian men have been arrested in London in connection with last summer's deadly bombings of two U-S embassies in Africa.

Authorities say fingerprints of both men were found on faxes that claimed responsibility for the bombings of embassies in Kenya and Tanzania last August.

Since the first of July, there have been seven fires in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Six of those were apparently caused by lightning strikes.
Though this is not the time of year when rangers expect to fight forest fires, they say the dry weather has created dangerous conditions.

In addition to this tournament the Scrappers travel up and down the east coast playing the best competition in the nation.

Then Bobby Labonte passed Andretti and Jeff Gordon to take the lead with over 180 laps to go in the race.
Rusty Wallace running on the low side of the track gets tapped in the side by Gordon and spins out bringing out the caution with over 140 laps to go.
Tony Stewart was the leader of the race however, with less than 3 laps to go he runs out of gas.
And John Andretti who was running second had to pit for gas.
