Police say Wright kicked in the door of his ex- girlfriend's apartment and began stabbing her... 22- year- old Keandra Denise Carter fled from her home, but Wright chased her down and continued his attack on the front lawn.
That's when Campbell County deputies Lee Owen and Kevin Schmitt arrived on the scene..
Owen and Schmitt ordered Wright to drop the knife.. Wright refused and first tried to cut his own throat, then charged at Schmitt with the weapon raised.
