((House of Delegates candidate Al Bedrosian is getting a couple of pats on the back from our viewers for giving a swat on the backside to a rambunctious child in a hospital waiting room.
A viewer from Elliston wrote: "All too frequently, children are allowed to misbehave without any of the consequences. If the parent of the child and clinic employees had taken no action to control the child and the child's actions endangered other children and/or patients, then Mr. Bedrosian was well within his rights to protect his children...I also believe that spankings, and I am not referring to child abuse, never hurt anyone."
And one from Floyd County said: "While I've never spanked a child I've seen many that I would like to have spanked...He didn't abuse that child, he corrected it. The main reason we have children killing other children is because they have not been corrected."
But a woman from Lynchburg had a different viewpoint.
"I have been in areas of many places where there have been children misbehaving and not being corrected and I have wanted to say something myself, but common sense tells you that you do not touch anyone else's child. He could have easily told the nurse or receptionist and they would have spoken to the parent. Or he could have walked to another area. I am sure everyone has witnessed children misbehaving many times but you use your head to know what not to do."
